AirFlow Configurations

DownDraft Configuration The DownDraft AirFlow Configuration is the best possible airflow configuration on the market today. The air is pushed down through the filters by either a Make-Up-Air Unit (Positive Pressure) or it is pulled down through by the exhaust Fan (Negative Pressure) and then is pulled down into the trench, filtered and exhausted outside. The DownDraft Configuration uses a trench or trenches in the floor which the product straddles and the air is pulled around the product and down through the trench. This gives overspray a quick exit and also helps if you are painting only part of a car and have the rest taped off with plastic, the plastic is brought tightly around the car and seals the rest of the product off completely.

 

Side-DownDraft Configuration Side DownDraft is very practical and easy to install. There is no digging up the floor and the associated additional costs. The air is pushed down through the filters by either a Make-Up-Air Unit (Positive Pressure) or it is pulled down through the filters by just the exhaust Fan (Negative Pressure) and then is pulled to the side of the booth where it is then filtered and exhausted outside.

 

Semi-DownDraft Configuration Semi-DownDraft is a very economical and reliable booth configuration. The air is pushed down through the filters in the front of the booth by either a Make-Up-Air Unit (Positive Pressure) or it is pulled down through the filters by just the exhaust fan (Negative Pressure) and then it is pulled horizontally over the product toward the back of the booth and then filtered and exhausted outside.

 

Cross-Flow Configuration The Cross-Flow Configuration is an industry standard that has largely been replaced by more efficient designs in recent years. They are however very economical and are a good choice for some applications. Consult your RoboVent representative for details.
