Outbound Quality Control

Quality is built in to our equipment and assessed at every point in the manufacturing process. We conduct a 50-point quality control check on all equipment before it leaves the plant, and test every unit before it ships so we know it is working correctly and is properly balanced.

Our inspection includes, in part:

  • Thorough inspection of all cabinets, structural components and weld seams for strength and integrity
  • Leak testing on filter cabinets
  • Balancing of blower wheels on each unit
  • Inspection of electrical systems and components
  • Testing of individual components such as Delta3 Spark Arrestance and SafeSensor particulate monitor
  • Run test of entire assembled unit to ensure that it is operating in optimal condition

Inbound Quality Control

Our commitment to quality extends to the third-party components we put into our equipment. We conduct internal quality checks and work closely with our suppliers to ensure that every part we source meets RoboVent quality standards.

  • We conduct quality control on all third-party fabricated items.
  • We visit our suppliers on a regular basis and review their quality processes and standards.
  • We require our suppliers to document that their welds are certified to American Welding Society (AWS) certification.
  • We confirm on a regular basis that our suppliers are doing weld-destruct testing on welded parts and routinely do our own weld-destruct testing on parts that comes into our facility.
  • If a supplier is not meeting quality standards, we will work with them to improve quality processes or find another source for the component.

Risk Analysis

We perform in-house risk analysis on every component of our equipment, from the electrical system to structural elements, to look for potential failure points. Our engineering teams review all aspects of equipment design and operation—including how it works, how it is installed and how it is maintained—to identify and quantify risks related to component failure, use error or equipment stress. Once we have identified potential risks, we do everything possible to design them out at the prototype stage. If there is inherent risk that can’t be designed out, we design labeling and training protocols to alert operators to these risks and help them mitigate them.

Our risk analysis encompasses all components with the potential to inflict harm if a failure should occur, including:

  • Compressed air componentry
  • Motors and blower wheels
  • Electrical control systems
  • Structural elements, including cabinet materials, fasteners and latches
  • Weld seams (assessed via weld-destruct testing)

Compliance and Certification

Our manufacturing processes comply with all UL, ISO and other relevant U.S., EU and international standards and regulations. In addition, our products conform to industry guidelines provided by:

  • National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA)
  • National Electric Code (NEC)

We are currently working to gain CE (Conformité Européene) certification for the European market. As part of this process, our equipment and components will undergo a full risk analysis by an objective third-party inspector to ensure that we fully meet all CE requirements. This review process will ensure RoboVent equipment is in compliance with EU regulations for:

  • Machinery (essential health and safety requirements, including ergonomics)
  • Low voltage
  • Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

Incident Response

We take equipment safety and reliability very seriously. In the case that a problem is identified with our equipment or a third party component, we will take immediate steps to mitigate it.

  • We conduct failure analysis on all reported issues to identify the source of the problem and determine the best way to prevent similar problems in the future.
  • If a potential safety problem is identified, we will immediately issue a notice to our customers and make arrangements to replace or repair the affected component at no cost.
  • If a quality problem is identified with a supplier, we will find a new supplier or work with the supplier to rectify the problem before continuing to use their components.
